This annual festival held in Hermann, Missouri celebrates “all things sausage.” The event is held the fourth weekend of March each year (unless it’s Easter weekend). The beer lines do move super quick though, as do the food lines. That being said, please be patient because there are lines & lots of people. Now we did go on opening night because admission was free, so I am not sure what the crowds are like other times. It also had a roll of sorts with it, which complimented the meat perfectly. Benedict School in Seattle, the Great Wallingford Wurst Festival is a community-wide event for the entire family.

Holy mother of amazing! It was cooked to perfection & had the most divine crunch with every bite. We also devoured some of the food & I had to say that my favorite was the Jalapeno Wurst on a stick. There is a great variety of beer & we tried several throughout the night.

I am so glad that we decided to go because, while extremely crowded, it was so much fun! We bought our drink tickets in advance & while it is pricey, it is worth EVERY penny we spent. Hubby heard about Wurstfest from a colleague so we decided to have a date night. He said that it was just like being back in Germany. My husband has been there though & he was absolutely amazed by Wurstfest. I have not made it to Germany yet so my knowledge of authentic German things is quite limited.
